Maria Engfelt was born and raised in San Diego, California. She was her high school's valedictorian. She attended Pomona College, located in Claremont, California and majored in Psychology. She studied abroad for a year at Lund University in Sweden while attending Pomona College. She returned to Sweden after graduating from college and lived in Stockholm for 4 years. She also lived in Paris for 1 year. She is fluent in Swedish and French. She attended Hastings College of the Law (http://www.top-law-schools.com/hastings-law-school.html). While at Hastings she studied abroad in Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands.

Ms. Engfelt chose to practice family law because it allows her to use her background in psychology to help counsel clients who are facing divorce or a custody battle. She knows that family law cases are the most harrowing types of matters and prides herself in her ability to act both as a counselor and advocate for her clients. She has practiced in the area of family law for 10 years. She enjoys meeting new clients and takes a real interest in each person's case. Ms. Engfelt is warm and empathetic and will listen to you and guide you through every step of the process.
